his page brings Lodge news from the Masonic Province of Dorset.

Fraternal Lodge No. 9649
To celebrate their 50th meeting the Fraternal Lodge of Dorset No. 9649 are holding a “Pageant of Masonry”. Details (and posters) have been sent to all Lodge Secretaries in the Province, from whom further information can be obtained.

The meeting will be held at the Masonic Hall, Ashley Road, Branksome on Thursday 10th September 2009 at 11.00 a.m.  This is certain to be a most successful meeting with the Heads of many of the Orders that meet within our Province intending to attend.

Dorset Masters Lodge No. 3366

Dorset Masters Lodge No. 3366
The Dorset Masters Lodge No 3366 celebrated its Centenary at the Shaftesbury Hall in the Masonic Centre at Portland on 6th May, a meeting attended not only by the Provincial Grand Master, but by all of the Executive and many members of the” Provincial Team”.

There will be a Centenary Banner Dedication ceremony for the Lodge at the Kinson Masonic Hall on Thursday 3rd September 2009 under the banner of London Haven Lodge No. 7300.

The Dorset Masters Lodge regularly has very enjoyable and informative meetings, usually with talks given by well known speakers. It meets during the day, a plus point for those Senior Brethren not wishing to drive at night. If you are not a member of this fine Lodge you probably know a member who could invite you along.

Contributions to this page
Brethren this is your page, an opportunity to make known those events, achievements, special occasions and other items of news that will be of interest to Brethren within this and neighbouring Provinces.  It is also a wonderful forum to announce Open evenings, since Gentlemen interested in joining our fraternity could read about them here.

We all have memorable evenings at our meetings. But many are particularly special, such as “Founders Night” at the Lodge of Amity No. 137 in Poole, “Farmers Night” at the Lodge of Honour and Friendship No. 1266 in Blandford, and many more. You can use this page to let other Lodges know when events are coming up, or perhaps share news of a special occasion or important social function with others.

If your Lodge has decided to have a lecture, advertise it; others may wish to hear it. What an opportunity to increase numbers at the meeting! And it is much more satisfying for the speaker to deliver a lecture to a full house.
Lectures are usually suitable for new Initiates and give a wonderful opportunity to broaden their Masonic knowledge. (You should always check with the Lodge secretary beforehand to confirm the lecture content is suitable.)

Brethren remember: North, East, West, and South of our Province there is News. Share it!
